PLASTERBOARD JOINT AND FINISHING PLASTER

COMPOSITION 
Light limestone powder, polymerous binders. Grain size max 0.15 mm.

SURFACE
Plasterboard walls and ceilings.
Substances, like dust, grease and dirt, impairing adhesion with the base must be removed.

PREPARATIONS
Pour necessary amount of plaster powder into a mixing vessel.
Add water 33–36% of powder weight (6.6–7.2 l water per 20 kg bag).
Mix carefully until the powder is completely wet.
Let stand for 30 min and mix again.
Ready-made plaster is usable at room temperature for 48 hours (in a sealed container).
Plasterboard walls and ceilings are checked once again that screw and nail heads remain below the plane of the plasterboard surface. Roughness is treated with sandpaper if necessary.

WORKING
Filling plasterboard joints
Apply mix with a wide putty knife to a surface so that it fills joint cavity.
Bed the tape in the plaster using a steel taping knife.
Smooth excess plaster with a putty knife so that the tape is covered. If necessary add more plaster to level the joint with the plasterboard plane.
Screw and nail heads are plastered twice and sanded in between.
Hardened plaster is finished with dry sanding paper (120 grit is recommended).
Plastering plasterboards
SILER 6 is suitable for covering plasterboards with a thin layer of plaster as its texture is very fine and it contains a considerable amount of polymers.
Use 80 cm steel trowels for covering large areas.

SETTING
Setting time is up to 24 hours depending of the layer thickness, air temperature and humidity.

RESTRICTIONS
Surface, plaster and room temperature must be above + 5 °C.
Not suitable as a base for tiling and for levelling floors.
Not suitable in humid conditions.
Plaster mix may cause congestion when gets in sewer duct.
In case of contact with eyes or mucous membrane wash with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor if necessary.

CONSUMPTION
0.2 kg/m2 when jointing.
1.0 kg/m2 on the average when covering large areas.

STORING
Store bagged powder in dry conditions.
Storage time is 1 year.
