Waterproof mastic

VEESTOPP

VEESTOPP is a ready-to-use, fibre-reinforced, hydro-insulation mastic to be used under the wall and floor tiles of wet rooms.
VEESTOPP forms an elastic watertight layer, which bridges cracks when dry. When the insulation layer has dried, a covering can be installed on the layer. The product is water based and does not emit hazardous compounds during drying.

Colour: Light blue
Consumption: Floors 1.1 kg/m2 (0.8 l/m2), walls 0.8 kg/m2 (0.6 l/m2) in case of two layers
Package: 1,4; 7 and 14 kg plastic containers.

Description

FIELD OF APPLICATION
VEESTOPP is meant to be installed under the wall and floor tiles of bathrooms, saunas and similar wet rooms for hydro-insulation in order to prevent water and humidity from penetrating into the base structures. The product is intended for indoor use as well as in rooms with under-floor heating. Not suitable for use in continuously under-water structures such as pools or structures with a long-term temperature over 80°C.

SUBSTRATES AND USE CONDITIONS
Concrete, bricks, cement-based levelling compounds and construction tiles used in wet rooms.
The substrate must be dry, absorbent, grease and dust free and level. It must be ensured that the temperature of the air, substrate and the product to be installed is at least +10°C and that the relative humidity is less than 80%. Suitable application tools are a paint roller and brush. If a reinforcing cloth is used, a spatula may be used for smoothening. VEESTOPP should be carefully mixed before use.

TECHNICAL DATA
Binder type SBR
Colour: Light blue
Drying speed approx. 2h first layer, approx. 6h second layer (23°C, 50%RH)
Specific weight 1.35 kg/l
Application temperature 10 – 25°C (air, substrate, product)
Consumption: Floors 1.1 kg/m² (0.8 l/m²), walls 0.8 kg/m² (0.6 l/m²) in case of two layers
Crack bridging capacity 1.5 mm

APPLICATION INSTRUCTION
Uneven spaces, gaps and cracks must be filled and ground. All substances, like dry cement milk, dust, glue and paint residue, which may reduce bonding, must be removed.
Apply VEESTOPP to the entire surface and allow to dry up to 2 h or until the colour of VEESTOPP turns dark.
Apply the second layer of VEESTOPP to the surface to be covered and allow to dry for at least 6 h. Check the strength of the hydro-insulation layer and add mastic to thin or porous areas and allow to dry. The thickness of the hydro-insulation layer of the wall must be 0.4 mm at minimum. When VEESTOPP is completely dry, tiles may be installed.

PROTECTING A DRIED LAYER
Avoid walking on freshly installed hydro-insulation mastic. Prevent holes and damage in the hydro-insulation layer and do not drill screws through the hydro-insulation layer. Damaged surfaces must be repaired with an overlay of 5 cm before tiling is started.

CLEANING THE TOOLS
Wash the tools with water before the mastic is dry. After drying, the stains can be removed mechanically.

STORING AND DISPOSING OF THE PRODUCT
Shelf life in a dry place, in temperatures between +5°C and +30°C and in closed original packaging is 36 months from the date of manufacture of the product.
Protect from frost! The empty package must be disposed of.
