LIME PLASTER

LIME-BASED FINISHING PLASTER
THE BEST PLASTER FOR RENOVATION WORK

Used for repairing old lime plaster surfaces.
For final finishing of walls and ceilings inside and outside.
For covering large areas and for improving surface damages.
Hardened plaster surface can be covered with lime paints and other paints capable of water vapour transmission.

COMPOSITION
Hydraulic lime, light flagstone powder and other natural additives. Maximum grain size of the plaster is 0.2 mm.

SUBSTRATE
Can be applied on a substrate levelled with lime plaster or other mineral plaster. Also other mineral substrates.
Clean substrates from substances reducing bonding properties, such as loose paint, dust, grease, etc. Dry substrates should be moistened before plastering.

PREPARATIONS
Pour the required quantity of the plaster mix in the mixing bowl.
Add 40-42% of clean water (8-8.4 l per 20 kg bag).
Mix carefully until the mixture is completely wet. Usage time of ready mix: up to 6 hours.

PLASTERING, FINISHING
The thickness of one plaster layer should be 1-3 mm. Thicker plaster layers are prone to micro cracking. Before applying the next plaster layer the previous layer must dry a minimum of 24 hours. Lime plaster can be easily polished with sand paper. The plaster surface should not be covered with paint before it is completely dry. The final drying time depends on the thickness of the plaster layer and ambient temperature (but in any case not less than 10 days). For painting we recommend using paints with excellent water permeability such as lime, silicate and silicone paints. The wrong paint type can ruin the whole job.

PROPERTIES OF LIME PLASTER
Maximum fraction size of the plaster mix 0.2 mm
Colour shade     lime white
Thickness of one plaster layer   1-3 mm
Usage time after adding water   up to 6 hours
Water vapour diffusion resistance factor of cured lime plaster μ < 3 (provided the thickness of the plaster layer is 2 mm)

RESTRICTIONS
For plastering the temperature of the substrate, plaster and room must be over + 5 oC.
Freshly plastered surfaces must be protected from rain and direct sunlight. Avoid freezing of the fresh plaster layer. Only clean, transparent mix water must be used.
The dry mix contains hydrated lime in large amounts. Upon contact with eyes or sensitive mucosa rinse immediately with clean water and in case of complications consult a doctor.

CONSUMPTION DURING PLASTERING
For covering large areas the consumption rate is 1.1 kg of plaster per m2 provided the thickness of the layer is 1 mm.

STORAGE
Plaster mix in bags should be kept in a dry room.
Shelf life of the plaster mix in an opened original package is 24 months.
