UniTherm Insulation System – specially meant to be used in Estonian climate conditions

UniTherm DEEP IMPREGNATING PRIMING COAT is a ready-to-use acrylic dispersion meant to be used
for deep impregnating ARMOURING GLUE layer on façades before application of the top layer or paint layer;
for strengthening weak and porous substrates before installing insulation boards;
in conjunction with UniTherm 1 insulation bonding mix;
for strengthening other mineral surfaces before plastering, pasting, tiling, painting, etc.

PROPERTIES OF DEEP IMPREGNATING PRIMING COAT
Very good impregnating properties into porous mineral surfaces.
Strong bonding properties, gives better bond strength to the plaster or paste layer.
Low water absorption rate, creates hydrophobic surface.
Prevents rainwater and air moisture penetration into the wall.
Promotes continuously good water vapour permeability in substrates and finishing layers.

PREPARING SUBSTRATES
Clean dirt, oil, grease, old paint, etc., from the substrate, that might reduce the impregnating properties of DEEP IMPREGNATING PRIMING COAT. Wet blaster or power wash are excellent for cleaning. For better results wash old surfaces even in case they seem clean. Let the substrate dry before priming.
Before applying DEEP IMPREGNATION PRIMING COAT all newly and freshly treated surfaces should be dry enough.

APPLICATION
Before usage shake or mix slightly the DEEP IMPREGNATION PRIMING COAT can. Use a roller, brush or low pressure spray (i.e. a garden spray) for application. Use a method of even down-up movements. Apply 1 or 2 layers, depending on surface properties. One layer of UniTherm insulation system armouring glue is enough.
The entire surface should be evenly covered. Avoid places where there is no trace of priming coat or places with glossy spots after drying or the formation of the polymer film layer as a result of too thick a priming layer.
The substrate and air temperature during the application process should be 5 – 25 °C and relative air humidity should not exceed 80%. Tools and surfaces possibly covered with excess liquid shall be cleaned with soapy water. When drying the material leaves visible traces on dense surfaces such as glass, metal, paint, etc. Dried and polymerised material can be removed mechanically.

CONSUMPTION
1 litre of DEEP IMPREGNATION PRIMING COAT for treating 10-35 m2 of substrate.
(consumption depends on the absorption properties and porosity of the substrate).

Safety
Not toxic, wear safety goggles and gloves. In case of contact with eyes or skin rinse with water. Not to be discharged into waters or surface. Empty cans and waste to be disposed with waste collection site. Observe safety signs on the package.
